Located in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the heart of the Shropshire Countryside lies a hostelry that is quickly gaining an excellent reputation for quality home cooked food, welcoming hospitality with a charm and character which is quite unique.
Welcome To The Baron Of Beef
Centrally located between Craven Arms and Knighton the Baron of Beef has been tastefully restored from a derelict farmhouse to a hostelry offering a traditional inn, restaurant, function room, beer garden and campsite.

Is this the best kept secret of Shropshire?
Your hosts Debra and Phil Wright believe this is the case and who could argue. With easy access into the premises you have a choice of four defined areas.
Maintaining the qualities of a traditional Inn you will find a seperate bar, lounge, restaurant and conservatory.
The original features displayed throughout the lower level of the property offer a unique charm that is very difficult to recreate. Even though the property was only restored 21 years ago, it is evident the craftsmen took pride in the restoration and salvaged the character of the building. |

The character and charm of this excellent hostelry is most evident in the restaurant where your eyes are drawn to the main focal point of the room.
The wonderful old apple press dating from 1770 is certainly a topic of conversation whilst waiting for your meal from a tempting menu of home cooked dishes freshly prepared from locally sourced seasonal produce.(Please refer to our menu page)
The Baron of Beef also offers the customer an excellent choice of real ales, including brews from smaller local breweries and has earned a Cask Marque accreditation for the beer served. The Baron of Beef maintain a well stocked hostelry offering spirits and fine wines in addition. |
